If your customer received the wrong item or wrong quantity, this is a mis-shipment and is handled separately from returns. See Mis-Shipments: How to Report and What to Expect.
Returns are most commonly initiated through your RMA (return management) platform and do not require any action in ShipHero. If you do not use an RMA platform, you can generate a return label directly in ShipHero.
Method 1: Generate a return through your RMA platform (recommended)
If you use an RMA platform — such as Aftership, Happy Returns, Loop, Frate, Swap, Narvar, Redo, ParcelLab, or PostCo — initiate the return there as you normally would. Your RMA platform handles label generation and customer communication. No action is required in ShipHero.
Method 2: Generate a return directly in ShipHero
Use this method only if you do not have an RMA platform or need to generate a return label outside of your normal RMA workflow.
Log into your ShipHero portal at shipsfor.us. Click Orders in the left-hand navigation and search for the order. Click into the order to open its details. Click the More Actions button at the top and select Create Return.
Verify that the return address is correct. Select the product or products being returned, the reason for the return, and the quantity to return. Enter the package dimensions — length, width, and height — and the weight in pounds. Note that the state field requires a two-letter abbreviation (e.g. IL for Illinois).
Select your label type — paid by store or paid by customer. Note that Manifest will bill you either way as the cost appears on the carrier invoice, so whichever you select is acceptable. For the carrier, USPS Ground Advantage is recommended as it gives the customer easy access to a drop-off location at any post office or PO box. Select the carrier and service and click Create Return.
By default, ShipHero will send the customer an email with the return label automatically. If you prefer to send the label yourself, toggle off the automatic email option before creating the return.
Verify: Confirm the return has been created and the label has been generated before navigating away.
