Overview
ShipHero has launched a new workflow for processing wholesale orders as of September 2025. We're thrilled to migrate to the new workflow for added accuracy, efficiency, and better line of sight heading into Peak Season 2025.
**This change is effectively immediately as of this writing (September 15, 2025).
Benefits
The benefits of the new workflow center around accuracy, efficiency, and line of sight. Some of the things we're most excited about include:
- More granular Order Statuses for our internal team, including differentiation between:
- Picked
- Labels generated and Ready to Print
- Warehouse Complete (awaiting outbound pickup)
-
Fulfilled (fully shipped, has physically left the building)
- *NOTE: this is what drives the "Fulfilled" status in the client portal as well!
- The selection of shipping type (Freight or Parcel) on our internal interface, including additional fields for freight orders specifically
- Error States: the ability to flag specific orders for any problems during processing (e.g. that labels would not generate)
- Views (internal interface) that distinguish between orders To Process and To Schedule making order and queue management more streamlined
- The use of Staging Locations systematically to more clearly track where processed orders live on the warehouse floor
Impact to Our Brands
The differences to our brand partners are minimal as many of the changes are "behind the scenes" for us internally to allow for more effective and accurate wholesale processing.
There is one important change to highlight:
IMPORTANT IMPACT: the new wholesale flow does NOT accommodate "Allow Partial" shipping by design to encourage as clean and straightforward of workflows as possible.
If you need to "short ship" an order and have us fulfill the remaining units at some point in the future:
- Edit the (existing) order to reflect ONLY the SKUs and quantities we have on hand and will be shipping now
- Create a new order (either within ShipHero or from within your store) to reflect ONLY the SKUs and quantities not being shipped currently that we must fulfill at some point in the future
