Requirements for B2B/FBA Orders With Carton- or Pallet-Level Vendor Compliance

Important Notes

  • SLA for these orders is 4 business days
  • Orders can either be created manually within ShipHero or created in Shopify and imported into ShipHero automatically. See the guide here for more information on creating orders.
  • Orders must meet the Requirements as below to ship according to vendor compliance. If any requirement is not satisfied at the time the order becomes Ready to Ship = Yes within our warehouse software, ShipHero, then Manifest will not be liable for chargebacks or penalties.*
  • *If you are creating orders in your store for import to ShipHero and need to upload attachments to ensure compliance, our recommendation is to put the order in a Hold until all attachments are uploaded and the order satisfies all of the requirements below. You can set a hold manually or contact your account manager to set up automation rule-based hold logic (e.g. if Shopify tag contains hold, then place order in a Fraud hold).

Carton- or Pallet-Level Vendor Compliance

It’s easiest to think of this as any outbound order that requires specific carton and/or pallet-level pack-out/assembly instructions for compliant shipping to the destination, which could include, but is not limited to, one or more of the below:

  • Applying carton- or pallet-level barcodes or stickers (e.g. GS1, G10s, Transparency, Amazon ASIN)
  • Applying carton- or pallet-level labels (e.g. induction/receiving labels for that vendor)
  • Packing out certain SKUs or colorways together
  • Packing out in specific unit denominations
  • Packing out with specific minimum or maximum weights or carton or pallet sizes per carton or pallet

Examples 

  • FBA Prep order that requires carton-level labeling
  • Bloomingdale’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dillard’s (typically any major retailer) with attached vendor compliance/routing guides that require carton-level labeling
  • Target order that requires a parent pallet number/label and children case numbers/labels affixed for delivery to their distribution centers

Requirements

  1. Order creation must trigger Manifest automation rule to drive the appropriate Vendor Compliance workflow process on the warehouse floor (see here for more information); in summary:
    1. Manually created orders in ShipHero must follow a naming convention to trigger these rules
    2. Shopify-created and imported orders must follow a tagging convention to trigger these rules
  2. All units in the order must be available to ship
  3. The Vendor Compliance SOP must be submitted and approved and logged in our repository
  4. Any documents that need to be included or affixed must be added as attachments to the order in ShipHero
  5. Any carton- or pallet-level labels must be attached to the order in ShipHero*

*We understand that producing carton- or pallet-level labels often first requires us to send you weights and dimensions. The Vendor Compliance SOP must explicitly state the need to send weights and dimensions. Upon successful pick, pack, and processing of the order, we will send you these weights and dimensions and await your successful upload and written confirmation that the carton- and/or pallet-level labels are now attached to the order.
