How to Manage Order Holds
If an order is on hold it cannot ship from Manifest's warehouse until the hold is resolved. The hold type displayed on the order tells you what caused it and what action is needed to release it.
How to place or remove a hold:
Log into your ShipHero portal at shipsfor.us. Click Orders in the left-hand navigation and find the order. Click into the order to open its details. In the upper right corner, click the blue dropdown button to place the order on hold or to remove an existing hold. Both placing and removing holds can be done on a case-by-case basis or in bulk.
Note: D2C orders that are still on hold at 12pm CT will not ship until the following business day.
Hold types and how to resolve them:
Client Hold: a hold you have placed manually on the order from within your shipsfor.us portal. Remove it directly in the portal when you are ready for the order to ship.
Fraud Hold: ShipHero applies this automatically based on Shopify's order risk assessment. Review the order in your store and either release the hold if the order is legitimate or cancel it if it is not. Contact Manifest's account managers to adjust which Shopify risk levels trigger a fraud hold on your orders.
Payment Hold: applied automatically based on payment status information from your store. Contact Manifest's account managers to adjust which payment statuses import to ShipHero and trigger a hold.
Address Hold: ShipHero uses the USPS address validator to verify shipping addresses. If an address is invalid and no alternate address is found, the order is automatically placed on hold. Review the address on the order and correct it if possible — see How to Edit a Shipping Address on an Order. Contact Manifest's account managers to set up email notifications for address holds.
Operator Hold: placed by Manifest's operations team when there is an issue with the order that requires attention. Contact Manifest's account managers to find out the reason for the hold and to release it once resolved.
