Overview
When an order is imported into ShipHero without a valid shipping method mapping, it will appear with a Generic Label. Manifest has an automation rule in place that will:
Automatically place the order On Hold, and
Notify you (the merchant) via email to correct the shipping method.
Fulfillment Extension Notice
Once the shipping method is corrected (mapping added or order updated) and the hold removed, a 1–2 business day extension is automatically added to the order’s fulfillment SLA. This ensures our team has adequate time to reprocess and ship the order after the correction is made
Why This Happens
There are two common scenarios where orders come into ShipHero without a mapped shipping method:
1. A New Shipping Option Was Added in Shopify
If a new shipping method in Shopify (e.g., “Express Saver,” “Holiday Promo Shipping,” etc.) and does not map it inside ShipHero, ShipHero will not know which carrier/service to assign.
Result: The order enters ShipHero with a Generic Label.
2. The Order Was Placed Without a Shipping Option in Shopify
This typically occurs when a Shopify Draft Order is created manually. Draft orders do not always contain a selected shipping method.
Result: The order imports into ShipHero with “None” in the Shipping Name field, triggering the Generic Label state.
How to Fix Unmapped Shipping Method Orders
Option 1: Create or Update the Shipping Method Mapping in ShipHero
If the issue is caused by a brand-new Shopify shipping option, it must be mapped inside ShipHero.

Once mapping is added, future orders using that shipping method will flow normally. Also, be sure to remove any holds caused by rule.
Option 2: Update the Order’s Shipping Method Directly in ShipHero
If the order came in with “None” or the wrong value, you can update the shipping method on the order manually:
Open the order in ShipHero
Click Edit next to Shipping Method
Select the correct shipping method from the dropdown
Save the update and remove the hold
Best Practices to Prevent Future Occurrences
Always map new Shopify shipping options inside ShipHero before going live.
When using Draft Orders, ensure a shipping method is selected before converting the draft to an order.
Review unmapped shipping methods weekly to avoid delays.
