Overview
This guide covers B2B and FBA Prep processes and policies at Manifest.
Near the top, this guide covers important information including Order Types and SLAs.
Further down, this guide also contains a Table of Contents with links to more tactical how-to guidance on facilitating successful setup of B2B and FBA Prep order fulfillment.
Determining Order Type
There are three types of B2B/FBA Prep orders:
- Standard B2B Orders
- B2B/FBA Orders With Carton- and/or Pallet-Level Vendor Compliance
- B2B/FBA Orders With Unit-Level Vendor Compliance
Standard B2B Order
Overview
It’s easiest to think of this as something we can pick and pack just like a D2C order except that it meets one or more of the below conditions:
- Has 30+ total units
- Is shipping via a prepaid label (or BOL)
- Is shipping to commercial address
- Has document attachments
Examples
- 40 unit order going to a customer at a residential address
- Faire order shipping to a commercial address
- Grove order requiring a PO to be included with the physical boxe(s)
B2B/FBA Order With Carton- and/or Pallet-Level Vendor Compliance
Overview
It’s easiest to think of this as any outbound order that requires specific carton and/or pallet-level pack-out/assembly instructions for compliant shipping to the destination, which could include, but is not limited to, one or more of the below:
- Applying carton- or pallet-level barcodes or stickers (e.g. GS1, G10s, Transparency, Amazon ASIN)
- Applying carton- or pallet-level labels (e.g. induction/receiving labels for that vendor)
- Packing out certain SKUs or colorways together
- Packing out in specific unit denominations
- Packing out with specific minimum or maximum weights or carton or pallet sizes per carton or pallet
Examples
- FBA Prep order that requires carton-level labeling
- Bloomingdale’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dillard’s (typically any major retailer) with attached vendor compliance/routing guides that require carton-level labeling
- Target order that requires a parent pallet number/label and children case numbers/labels affixed for delivery to their distribution centers
B2B/FBA Order With Unit-Level Vendor Compliance
Overview
It’s easiest to think of this as any outbound order that requires specific unit-level pack-out/assembly instructions for compliant shipping to the destination, which could include, but is not limited to:
- Applying unit-level barcodes or stickers (e.g. GS1, G10s, Fineline tickets, Transparency stickers, Amazon ASIN)
Sub-Types
There are two sub-types of vendor compliance requiring unit-level labeling. Information on how to successfully facilitate shipment for either can be found linked immediately below:
- Physical Labels: labels/stickers that must be ordered and physically delivered to Manifest's warehouse to be affixed to units for vendor compliance (e.g. Transparency, Fineline, etc.)
- Digital Attachments: labels/stickers that are uploaded as digital attachments to the order in ShipHero for Manifest to print and affix to units for vendor compliance
Examples
- FBA Prep order that requires unit-level ASIN or Transparency labeling
- Urban Outfitters or Free People orders that require one or more Fineline "tickets" to be affixed to individual units
- A "big box" retailer that requires inner cartons being labeled or re-labeled (over-labeled) and placed back into their master cartons prior to outbound shipment
B2B & FBA Prep Thresholds
If ANY of the below conditions are met, the order is in excess of normal scope of work thresholds for processing within normal SLAs. These orders may require additional processing time and will be assessed on an individual basis. If Manifest does not communicate the need for additional processing time when any of these conditions are met, normal SLAs will apply.
- 10,000+ total units
- 250+ carton labels to be applied
- 1,000+ unit-level stickers/labels/barcodes to be applied*
*Unit-level stickers are counted per sticker rather than per-unit. For example, if each unit must have two stickers/barcodes applied, this would count as two unit-level stickers. An order with 500 units that need two stickers each would then meet the 1,000+ unit-level sticker threshold and be subject to additional processing time.
SLAs
